Dr. Sarah Round knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian; therefore, after graduating from Colgate University in 2006, she traveled to Michigan to pursue her veterinary degree. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, where she was awarded the Small Animal Award in Surgery. Her training continued and she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in 2011. During her internship her love for surgery grew and she knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary surgery. By July 2012, Dr. Round had completed a one year speciality surgical internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists. In July 2015 she completed a three year surgical residency at Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Center (VSEC) in Levittown and Philadelphia, PA. Following her residency Dr. Round was eager and excited to return back to the Garden State Family and lead the Surgery Department at Garden State Veterinary Services in Iselin, NJ. Dr. Round's surgical interests include hepatobiliary surgery, laparoscopic surgery, urogenital surgery and various orthopedic surgeries including stifle surgery (TPLO) and fracture repair. In her free time Dr. Round enjoys hiking with her husband and their rambunctious mixed breed dog, Ella.
