Meet Our Emergency Medical Team

Irina Arye, DVM

Dr. Arye is a 2012 graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Irina completed a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Garden State Veterinary Specialists.

Maria Cordero, DVM

Maria is a 2018 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical year at the University Of Minnesota School Of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Cordero completed an Emergency Veterinarian Training Program at Garden State Veterinary Specialists before joining the GSVS family of hospitals as an emergency doctor.

Gabriella Iannuzzi, DVM

Dr. Iannuzzi was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. She graduated from Pace University where she majored in Biology. She went on to earn her DVM degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies and completed her clinical training at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. From a very young age she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and with that passion she started her own dog walking/pet sitting business. She also volunteered at animal shelters, the Staten Island Zoo and various veterinary practices to gain animal experience. She joined the GSVS and GSiVS Emergency family in 2018. Her special interests include emergency medicine/critical care, endocrinology, and radiology. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her 2 pit bulls (Layla and Roxy) and rabbit (Lola).

Cody Kent, DVM

Dr. Kent was born and raised in Monmouth County. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Penn State University before traveling to Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine in Southern California. Dr. Kent completed a 1-year small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. In his spare time, Dr. Kent enjoys hiking and camping, exploring state and national parks, and watching the Penn State Nittany Lions play football.

Catherine Seeds, DVM

Dr. Seeds is a 2019 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Gators!). As a New Jersey native, she received her Bachelor’s degree from the Rutgers University School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, prior to moving to Florida. Dr. Seeds completed the emergency veterinarian training program at Garden State Veterinary Specialists prior to joining the team as an emergency clinician.

No Referral or Appointment Needed for Emergency Care
Our Hospital Remains Open 24/7 to Accept Emergency Patients

It is requested, whenever possible, that the referring veterinarian alert GSVS WOODBRIDGE staff members that an emergency case is being sent to our hospital from their office. Advance notice will assist our staff members in preparing for the arrival of the patient.

Patients referred for emergency treatment or care will be referred back to their primary veterinarian for follow-up care upon the completion of treatment at GSVS WOODBRIDGE.

GSVS WOODBRIDGE has established an Emergency/Trauma unit for its critical patients which has all of the resources of the hospital available to the patient, including oxygen cages, heated recovery cages, ECG/blood pressure monitoring, isolation unit and ventilation support unit.

The Emergency Medical Team Provides the Following Services:

    • 24-hour Emergency Care
    • Continuous nursing care 24/7, 365 days/year
    • Veterinarian and trained technicians always in attendance
    • Team of Board Certified Specialists available for consultation
    • Intensive Care Unit & initial diagnostics for emergency patients
    • Critical care monitoring
    • Chest tube placement
    • Tracheostomy tube placement
    • Pericardiocentesis
    • Thoracocentesis
    • 24-hour ICU monitoring/hospitalization
    • Bloodwork including profile, CBC, partial coagulation panels, blood gas analysis, and crossmatching
    • Radiographs
    • Emergency endoscopy for foreign body retrieval
    • Emergency fluoroscopy primarily for myelograms
    • Emergency surgical procedures
